CLIMBING THE MOUNTAIN TO OUR CHILD

Climbing the mountain is an understatement when it comes to the paper chase that is involved in this process.  Although, I can smile the entire way just knowing what is on the other side.  To know there is a little one with no family waiting for us to be their mommy, daddy and even big brother to love them forever is so exciting!  I see many of our adoption friends getting so close to their "gotchya day", it seriously keeps things into perspective! The faster I work and get things in order, the closer we get to our very own "gotchya day".  For those of you who arent familiar with the super cool adoption lingo :) Gotchya Day is the day you finally meet your child and hug them for the first time.  Its is your forever day!  The day that child will know endless love for the rest of their life... Pretty cool huh!!!! 

I am in love with our adoption agency CCAI.  They are so wonderful and beyond responsive and helpful.  So far, I feel they are a perfect fit for us! So for now, we continue climbining our mountian.  I cant wait to share our next step through this journey...

WE ARE OFFICIALLY APPROVED...... OUR LONG JOURNEY TO CHINA BEGINS TODAY!!!!

Words cannot express the excitement we feel knowing the journey to our little one offically begins today!!!  I forced myself to be patient (although my husband may say otherwise LOL)..  I prayed and prayed knowing in my heart this was meant to be!  Our journey is just begining, but I am completely ready to hit the ground running!  There is NO WAY our little one will spend a minute longer than he or she has to without a mommy or daddy!!! So let the mounds of paperwork, home study visits, fundraising, and anything we need to do to make this incredible dream come true!!!  I will work to blog as often as possible to keep family and friends updated on how things are going!!  Right now we just ask for lots of prayers and support as we travel our long road to China!!!

Sign Sealed Delivered

Well, we have officially signed, sealed and delivered our adoption application to CCAI.  I will  not begin to say I have any idea what lies ahead for us, but I have full faith the Lord will be right next to us every step of the way.. .Hopefully he helps me with my issue of finding "patience", because I know this is going to be a long journey that will undoubtedly not work on my timeline... Knowing there is a special child waiting just for us to love and be his or her forever family makes this whole process so worth it.  The biggest revelation thus far was the medical checklist.  That took lots of prayers and research, but in the end, we are confident the Lord's perfect little "match" for us will be just as he intended.  If you read the "our journey" portion of this blog, you know we lost our sweet two month old son Marco, to spinal muscular atrophy last October (2012), when talking to people about our adoption choice of China, many people say "cant you only adopt special needs children from China", what is so funny to me, is that statement is beyond ironic, because Mario and I are the epitome of "special needs" parents.  We lost our child to a horrible disease that took over every muscle in his little body, I guess that is as special needs as it could get in our eyes. We realized we are just not the type of people to sign up for what others may consider the "perfect child", what we will sign up for is the "PERFECT CHILD MEANT FOR US"....  So for now we wait patiently for our official green light and then start our journey on the long road to China :) ...
